Parades and holiday events

Experience the charm of Lewis County's signature event, Summerfest, a cherished day-long celebration on the 4th of July. Delight in the simplicity of a hometown parade, where the community comes together to showcase its vibrant spirit. The excitement continues with the lively Destruction Derby, providing thrills for those seeking a bit of adrenaline.

Yet, Summerfest is more than a mere collection of events; it's a celebration of community pride and shared joy. Families, friends, and neighbors come together to revel in the spirit of Independence Day, forging memories that linger long after the last firework fades. Join us in embracing the essence of this beloved Lewis County tradition, where the magic of Summerfest extends far beyond the breathtaking displays and resonates in the collective heartbeat of our community.

Downtown Centralia turns on the hometown charm for the holidays! The season kicks off with a tree-lighting ceremony in George Washington Park the day after Thanksgiving and continues throughout December with events and activities designed to ensure that all your holiday wishes come true. A highlight is the award-winning Lighted Tractor Parade, held the second Saturday of December. Over a mile of tractors, trucks, trailers, and marching bands are decked out in 100,000 lights as they travel through town. The parade starts at 6pm—come early to secure your viewing spot and peruse all the charming shops and eateries!
